RESONANCIA

AMELIA IBANEZ

How are we influenced by celestial bodies? These performances were conceived as an interpretation of astral charts, in an intention to scale and understand the conflicts of the Earth in relation to the orbits of stars and planets. We must become collectively aware of how we are constantly affected by invisible waves of ethereal pressure, and our belonging to the cosmos.
The tension between the celestial bodies was represented by dancers, who created geometrical figures and flows on the solid black floor of the museum. For the sound, we took advantage of the augmented reverberation of the building, and decided to create an ocean of noise that represented the chaotic tides of the universe. This was accomplished through the peculiar sound of metals (singing bowls and mouth harps, which locates somewhere in between analog and electronic) and a synth, that provided an overlay of sound waves that impregnated the main hall of the museum.
